Beard supports Highbury School parents

Beard was delighted to make a recent donation to Life Education Centres to help them deliver a series of courses to parents at Highbury School, Salisbury, where Beard is currently on site.

The course, which aims to equip parents with the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed for enjoyable and successful parenting will be delivered over seven two hour sessions in the summer term.

The learning has been designed to help parents and carers develop family skills which have been seen to protect against drug misuse and associated problem behaviours. The course takes a holistic approach to parenting and health education, promoting not only effective relationships, but also the physical, emotional and psychological well-being of both the parent/carer and child.

Judy Johnson of Life Education Centres Wiltshire said: “Thank you so much for your kind donation. It will make a lot of difference to our charity and provide the resources I need to run my course.”

Beard regularly undertakes charitable activities with local schools and feel it is always important to give something back to the community.  Quite often we carry out talks on construction and health and safety and give tours of our sites to pupils.
