New team, new focus for Beard Swindon

Beard is to increase its presence in Swindon and Wiltshire by restructuring its Swindon management team.

Beard’s strategy is to build long-term sustainable relationships with customers and business partners as well as supporting the local community.

Key to the company’s growth is the investment in new staff. Marc Bayley, Swindon Construction Director joined Beard in September 2007 and has been responsible for strengthening the management team to bring a new focus to the business. Over the last two years Beard has invested in 16 new staff in Swindon and this number is predicted to grow.

The restructuring will improve operational performance by strengthening management on and off Beard’s building sites to enable consistent, high quality and timely delivery.

Marc believes: "In today's construction industry it is important that companies understand the meaning of ‘Team’ and the benefits that working closely with your customers and local communities can bring to all parties.

The new structure will enable the Swindon team to maintain and strengthen its ability to provide such an approach, which will ensure that "prompt faultless delivery", is achieved for all our customers."

Beard is also a member of the Swindon Constructing Excellence Group.  The Group’s remit is to share best practice and innovation across the construction industry and wider business community as well as promoting Swindon’s building industry as an attractive employment option.

Recent contracts include: A £3m contract to build a primary school in Salisbury and a £1.1m contract to build a classroom extension and children’s centre at Trowbridge Parochial School for Wiltshire County Council; a care home for young adults at Masefield Avenue in Swindon; and remedial works following flood damage at the Royal Military College in Shrivenham.
