Turnover doubles for Beard's Property Services Team
Turnover for 2012 is expected to reach £6.4 million for Beard Property Services. £3 million of this is from the company’s Swindon based team following growing demand across Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Berkshire, and this figure is expected to rise as more school improvement and maintenance programmes are finalised.
Complementing Beard’s construction projects division, the team specialises in fast turnaround small works including repair, maintenance and refurbishment, typically lasting just six weeks, supporting a range of local authority framework agreements for minor works across Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and West Berkshire, as well as contracts for NHBC (National House Building Council) South West and MoD sites.
The team is on site at a dozen jobs at any one time and is particularly busy with projects for the Defence estate, including back-to-back projects at Ashchurch Camp near Tewkesbury and Colerne Barracks near Bath, and the school sector where examples include Hungerford Nursery School, New Bridge Nursery School in Reading and Horris Hill preparatory school near Newbury. Projects at Brimpton School and Brookfield School in Berkshire started earlier this summer.
Marc Bayley, Swindon construction director for Beard says: “Led by experienced Property Services Manager Brian Bevan, the team is doing is a great job to meet customer expectation by providing a vital service to property owners. Because the majority of our resources are in-house, we have more control over speed and quality, which are crucial factors for the customers we work with. I am confident that the team will be able to deliver an even stronger performance as the year progresses.”
