Sleigh pull success - Beard charity event was a real cracker!

On Thursday 16th December, people of Swindon may have been surprised to see a well known, festive figure travelling through the town!

A number of staff from Beard’s Swindon office took part in a sleigh pull to raise money for a local charity, the Prospect Hospice. Santa was joined by 10 “reindeer”  pulling his sleigh, 4 elves collecting money en-route, 1 elf driving a Beard van behind the procession and 2  marshals to ensure the pull was carried out safely.

After setting off from Greenbridge retail Park at 2pm, the team made such good time they found themselves arriving at their final destination,  the Outlet Village, nearly an hour earlier than scheduled! So, with energy to spare, the festive team decided to do an additional leg and went through Rodbourne and back.

After arriving back at the Designer Outlet Village, the Beard team were joined by 38 children from local school, Lawn Primary, who sang carols under a giant Christmas tree within the shopping centre.

The event was a huge success with a huge amount of support from the community and many people stopping to give donations as the sleigh was pulled through the town.  Everyone that took part had a lot of fun and there has been talk of making this an annual event...!
