Tony Baldry MP visits Beard site at Cooper School in Bicester

On Friday the 5th November, Tony Baldry, Member of Parliament for North Oxfordshire and Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Excellence in the Built Environment visited the Beard construction site at The Cooper School Bicester.

After reviewing the project with Councillor Michael Waine, Headmaster Ben Baxter, Adrian O’Shaughnessy  and Mark Beard; Tony Baldry joined a specially selected group of local construction professionals to discuss how the Construction industry could better serve its customers including the UK Government.

The consensus was the SME’s had a major role to play in delivering value for money, but to do so, Government needed to remove many of the barriers built up over the last 10 years which effected the ability of smaller companies to deliver cost effective solutions. The Group agreed to provide further thoughts to Tony Baldry on how the UK construction industry could operate more efficiently which Tony would pass on to the Coalition Government for their consideration.
